Our client is situated in Hammersdale with a position for a Fitter Apprentice. The successful candidate will work under supervision and will be expected to perform the following duties throughout the Apprentice period:
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate
- N2 or N3 Mechanical Engineering
The training opportunity will include the following:
- All trade related training
- On the job training
- Practical training and theoretical training
- Good understanding of factory utility layouts (electrical and water reticulation, compressed air systems, and process water plant)
- Knowledge of condition monitoring (electrical and water reticulation, compressed air systems and process water plant)
- Knowledge of OSHACT
- Knowledge of shut down maintenance
- Working knowledge of robotics
- Bearings and lubrication
- Welding, cutting and grinding experience
- Pneumatics, pumps, transmission systems and general mechanics Duties :
- Identify, verify and analyse reasons for downtime through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to repair the fault in order to ensure timeous resumption of production
- Inspections on running machinery and equipment
- Adherence to the maintenance schedule
- Adherence to all safety rules and regulations by all personnel and contractors on site to ensure a safe working environment
