| Requirements | A Critical Care Assistant (CCA) or National diploma in emergency medical essential. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as Paramedic on the ANT register. A code 8 PDP drivers license essential. Newly qualified ALS with operational EMS experience. 1 years ALS operational experience will be advantageous. Any Rescue and/or Fire qualifications will be advantageous Must be able to swim. Must be SA citizen and reside in the area. Knowledge and experience of the EMS environment. Working knowledge and application of HPCSA guidelines and scope of practice. Working knowledge and experience of Patient Report Forms. Upholds high ethical and professional standards. Follows instructions and adheres to procedures. Works accurately and thoroughly by attending to detail. Responds constructively to pressure and perseveres through challenges. Collaborates with and supports colleagues in order to achieve shared goals. Strives to identify and deliver on clients’ needs and a continuously focus on the client experience. Proficient in MS Office Suite. |
| Key Outputs | Oversees and ensures operational readiness for emergency calls. Administers patient care in line with scope of practice. Provides professional emergency services to site based practice. Provides basic shift administration services. |
