PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To drive the effective and efficient dispatches and internal movement associated to a specific site and to check and approve despatches and interdumps for all sections and reconcile despatches with transporters and Smelters.
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
- Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
- Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
- Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
- Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
CUSTOMERS
- Liaise with Production, Transport, Yellow Equipment contractors and provide any required feedback to Logistic Practitioner
- Ensure customer satisfaction as specified by Logistic Practitioner.
BUSINESS PROCESSES
Product Approvals
- Check weighbridge tickets for accuracy
- Daily product approvals of despatches and interdumps movements on MES
- Do daily and weekly report for production and despatches
- Check rail consignments for local and export trains and communicate to Marketing (Central Logistics), Smelters via Logistic Practitioner.
Quality
- Conduct a daily walk through in the Raw Material area to inspect the quality of the product on the ground available for dispatching
- Maintain the filing system for the despatch documentation for audit purposes and load monthly orders on MES
- Communicate and reply to customer queries.
SAP Process
- Do purchase requisitions and service entries for service providers
- Do reservations for office supplies for weighbridges
Administration
- Keep record and control PPE issuing
Reconciliation
- Do reconciliation of despatches to Smelters and exports through various transporters and sort out queries
- Interplant transfer of material reconciliation – material handling suppliers
Minimum qualifications:
- Logistic or Business Management Degree or National Diploma (study towards)
- 3 Years’ relevant experience
Additional requirements:
- At least 3 years relevant experience
- Computer literate – Microsoft Office
